Break up prank gone wrong

Pairings: Min Yoongi / Kim Taehyung / Jeon Jeongguk x Reader

Min Yoongi

“She would freak out if I ever told her that” Yoongi said with his eyebrows furrowed.

After having been getting ready for over half an hour to go on stage, the seven of them had grown quite bored, which is why they were currently playing a game of dares.

Yoongi’s dare? Telling you, his long term girlfriend who was waiting for him on the couch by the other side of the room, that he wanted to break up.

Now, he refused to do it at first, but when his members started to tease him about how whipped he was for you… he felt the need to prove them wrong. He could do just one little thing that would slightly upset you, right? It wasn’t like he would break your heart and, on the brightside, he would try to fight against his pretty obvious soft spot for you.

“Um… Y/N?” he mumbled nervously as he reached your side.

Your eyes went instantly from your phone to him, letting him know you were listening.

Giving a quick glance back to his six-people-audience, he bit his lip before looking back to you. “I want to break up”.

Honestly, was he even trying?

“No” you simply stated, going back to focus on your phone.

Yoongi frowned – already hearing his friend’s laughs from behind.

“What do you mean ‘no’?” he questioned. “I’m telling you I want to break up with you”.

“And I’m telling you we won't”.

His jaw fell, allowing you to know just how indignated he was. Anyway, it was not like he had actually wanted to break up with you, so what was even the point on keep the prank going?

“O-okay then…” he scratched the back of his ear, looking back to the boys in disbelief.

“She definitely freaked out, hyung” Jeongguk chuckled as soon as Yoongi was back to their side.

“Next thing you know, you’re never able to get rid of her and end up getting married”.

Jimin’s words made Yoongi smile shyly as he shook his head – that idea not bothering him in the slightest.

“I feel like this isn’t working… it would be best if we broke up”.

Now, any other time, your heart would have dropped because of the words that had just abandoned your boyfriend’s mouth. The look on his face was just so sincere, so convincing, you would have fallen for it in a heartbeat…

If it weren’t for Hoseok and his huge mouth, that had blurted out the prank Taehyung was planning to pull on you.

So instead of being hurt, freaking out even because of a possible break up with the person you loved the most, you decided to react by letting out a sigh of relief.

“Oh, thank God” your hand went to your chest, showing him the weight that had just been lifted from off your shoulders.

Taehyung stared at you blankly – his mouth falling slightly open. What was happening?

“I’ve wanted to break up with you for a while now but I couldn’t bring myself to do it” you laughed lightly.

Funny how it was his heart the one dropping now.

The lost puppy eyes he stared at you with almost made you drop your act right there and then.

“You’re kidding, right?” he mumbled.

You shook your head no. “We’re good though, right? We can still be friends” you smiled sweetly.

Taehyung remained silent for a few seconds, feeling his heart go uneasy. This could not be real.

“I was just joking…” he admitted, sounding almost broken.

“Oh…” you shifted in your place, “well, then this is really awkward because I was not…”

“Y/N, this isn’t funny”.

That was it for you.

“Oh, but you pulling this kind of prank on me is?” you raised one of your eyebrows.

And then it hit him. A prank. You were just pranking him back.

“Oh, thank God” he repeated your previous words, grabbing your hand and pulling you into his embrace before you could storm out.

Never again in his life would he try to mess with you.

“IU looked so cute today” you heard Jeongguk gush about her for the third time during your ride back home from the Awards Show you had just been at.

You nodded once again, because… fuck off, she did, and you had no problem accepting that.

“I mean, she just… ugh” he he threw his head back, resting it on the backseat.

You giggled at his fanboy ways. However, your amusement was soon erased the second he looked seriously at you, taking in your every faction before saying:

“Okay, I know this is very sudden and shitty, but I want to break up”.

Your eyes immediately moved from the window to lock with his.

“Excuse me?” you cocked one of your eyebrows.

“I want to have my shot with her. Did you see the way she was looking at me today?”

A look into his eyes was all you needed to know he was not being serious. Come on, he loved you and would never do such thing to you.

But two could play this game.

And you were such a fangirl yourself for one of the idols that had attended the event that evening – one you had actually had the pleasure to meet that night, which is why…

“And you couldn’t have told me that two hours ago when I was talking to Jaehyun?” you scolded him. This time you were the one throwing your head back in feigned frustration.

Jeongguk stared at you like both his mind and heart had just stopped functioning.

“What?”

You turned your head in his direction, giving him a grin that let him know you were joking, too.

“Ah, baby” he whined, resting his head on your shoulder, “don’t do this to me”.

“I’m just saying” you begun, softly playing with his hair, “I think you could go get IU and I could do the same with Jae”.

You did not just–

“And I think you won’t be allowed anywhere near Jae anymore”.

Yoongi:

Yoongi doesn’t sleep much at night. He either is working on his music or just not being able to shut his eyes. His mind keeps going and going. It wears him off as if he’s running a marathon.

But then there’s a little light at the very back of his thoughts: you, by his side.

When those nights come, where he can’t sleep at all, he rolls on his side and rests his head in the palm of his hand, supported by his elbow. He looks at you softly snoring and he silently chuckles. 

He does that pretty often. Yoongi just looks at you and takes every second of it in, trying to imprint the image of you in your most vulnerable state on the back of his eyelids for him to watch it later when you are not around.

And yes, he knows that he’s not the most vocal about his feelings, but at that moment, he wishes you were awake. He’s so sure that if you were, he would just blurt out every little word in the dictionary that describes you in the best way possible like an endless river.

He doesn’t dare to touch you in your sleep. He even feels that if he doesn’t breathe delicately, you’ll wake up.

“You’re not even trying to be loved, but I do it anyways,” he thinks out loud while tracing your cheekbone with his knuckle.

In his eyes, you could never be not perfect. There’s always something, even the tiniest thing you could ever see that’s worth complimenting. 

He knows that funny thing that his heart does whenever he sees you it’s called love. He knows that there are little things you do that makes his pulse increase considerably that may not have the same effect on other people. Like when you scrunch your nose while concentrating or when your eyebrows shoot skywards while reading something on your phone. 

He embraces the way you make him feel. There’s a little voice telling him that feeling might go away, slip between his fingers like dry sand, so he compliments you all the time, makes you feel loved because you deserve it.

It starts with a comment on how good you look at whatever you choose to wear and then he asks more questions, genuinely interested in what you have to say. He laughs because the way you smile with your eyes makes his insides turn. It always catches him by surprise. 

He enjoys the way you talk and the closeness between the two of you. It doesn’t matter what you talk about, you make it sound interesting, no matter what and without even trying. 

Hoseok often finds himself sighing with his chin in the palm of his hand while listening to you speak.

“It’s not only the sound of your voice, it’s everything; from the words you choose to express yourself, to the way your hands gesture your thoughts.”

Namjoon:

Namjoon tends to overthink a lot. There’s always a concern or something to do. The times when he’s relaxed and truly resting are a few, close to none. Although, when he gets to enjoy those kinds of moments, he makes sure to have you by his side.

It’s important for him to be surrounded by a distressing environment and most of the time, people don’t really help with that, but with you it’s different. You radiate some kind of calming atmosphere. It’s all around you and Namjoon is so thankful that something, whatever it is, decided to put you in his life. He can barely remember how he managed to cope with everything before he met you. He tries really hard to express how much he loves having you by his side. 

Sunday mornings are by far his favourite moments of the whole week. There’s a warm breeze that appears without a fail when he wakes up. Be it summer or winter, spring or fall; he feels warm with you by his side every Sunday morning. Before he can stop himself, his fingers are already brushing your hair, waking you up. 

There’s no need to say anything at all. You always look up and find him already staring at you and smiling. You close your eyes and inhale profoundly while Namjoon hums a song you can’t recognize. His fingers don’t stop moving through your hair… Not that you would want that to happen.

“Can’t decide if I want you awake or asleep. You look peaceful either way.”

Taehyung:

There’s always a schedule he has to follow to the letter. No exception. And although he finds it really hard to spend as much time with you as he would like, he manages it pretty good.

Taehyung would always come back home with a smile and basically jumping on his spot because he’s so excited to spend time with you. If he’s tired, he would gladly forget about it and enjoy doing something with you. Whatever you might like, it didn’t matter as long as you did it together. His favourite thing would be something relaxing like watching a movie.

He would be so focused on the screen that it would take some time for him to turn his face to tell you something and notice you have fallen asleep somewhere in the middle of the movie. Taehyung would smile at you and get up from the sofa to soon come back with a blanket. He carefully covers your and his body as he lies down next to you, snaking his arms around you. 

Your hair is everywhere. It tickles his nose and it pokes his eyes when you move in your slumber, but he doesn’t care. He inhales the perfume of your shampoo and enjoys the way your body warmth makes its way to all his body.

“You’re lucky I didn’t fall asleep as well,” he commented. “You would’ve caught a cold sleeping uncovered, dummy.”

There’s no explanation whatsoever, but Jimin looks at you and sees a person that needs to be protected all the time. No, scratch that. You don’t need to be protected, but Jimin has the need to do so.

You sometimes are too small to reach the cups that are at the very back of the cupboard. Other times, you trip over your shoelaces because you were too sleepy in the morning to notice you hadn’t tied them.

Jimin doesn’t really find that cute or whatever. He actually gets a little worried. He often asks himself what would happen if something like that happens while he’s not around. He’s sure that you won’t have trouble solving whatever gets in your way, but that doesn’t mean he wants you to go through it alone. What if something really serious happens?

He tries to keep his concern light. He knows that you might get a little annoyed by how much he worries, but that doesn’t stop him from taking care of you as much as he possibly can.

On cold days, for example, he stops you from going out and checks your outfit before you step out the door. He doesn’t want you to go out with not enough warm clothes. Your head is always what you forget to cover up. Maybe it’s because you don’t want to ruin your hair or whatever, but Jimin can’t bring himself to care as he takes out a nice black beanie from behind his back and puts it on you. You slightly pout and he gives you a smile before patting your- now- covered head.

“Can’t risk you catching a cold! Come on, don’t pout. You’d look really cute with a red nose but I prefer the beanie, for now.”

Something that makes Jungkook nervous, like really nervous, is feeling homesick. Whenever he’s on tour, maybe a few months or weeks away from his home, there’s an unsettling feeling in the tip of his stomach. It grows and grows until it becomes unbearable. Yes, he’s happy because he gets to perform for his fans from all around the world, but then he thinks about your hands could be holding him. He scolds himself for not treasuring enough his last night with you before getting on the plane that left him so far away from you.

His phone converts into his best friend those days. 

Jungkook is always informed with a lot of anticipation before a tour starts and as soon as he is with you, he makes taking as many pictures of you as he possibly can into his personal mission. And it may be annoying because you sometimes are in the middle of realizing you just woke up when the little sound of the camera echoes in the room, and Jungkook snickers and tells you how cute you look with a bloated face and messy hair, but it means so much more.

Jungkook snaps pictures of you everytime he can. Months into the relationship, even when he knows he’s not going anywhere anytime soon, he develops a habit out of it. Whatever you’re doing, it feels worth recording. 

It takes only four months to collect five hundred photos of you. Some of them are blurry because you caught him with his camera aiming at you and you tried to prevent him from snapping a photo, but he refuses to erase them. 

“My favourite photos are the ones that I take when you don’t notice it. Makes me feel like I’m home with you.”

All of these American interviewers like “Suga is definitely the bad boy of the group. Aloof. Not paying attention to anything. Only smiles for the cameras because that’s what bands who are trying to take over America do.” First of all, he’s fucking tired. He just had a whole ass comeback and wrote/recorded songs while on a world tour and he tries so hard to stay positive for his fans and support everyone. He came to america from korea and was probably jet lagged like hell. Don’t come for him.

And I’ve seen new fans like “He looks like the least interested in what he’s doing. He doesn’t seem grateful.” Are you kidding? This man had to choose between eating and getting public transportation to the studio and shit. He grew up poor. His parents did not support his dream and he still went for it with everything he had in him. He pushed himself and pushed himself. He has been through depression so bad that he considered suicide. He has social anxiety and gets fidgety in interviews and only speaks in them when he is somewhat comfortable. He makes music so that people feel the passion behind it and feel that they are not alone. He supports everyone. When asked what he likes in a girl and given the choices ‘face’ and 'body’ he wrote another option and put 'personality’. He said his type is not limited to a woman. When asked how much he wanted his significant other to weigh? He wrote down a ridiculous number. You know why? Because he doesn’t care about that superficial shit. He’s the kind of person that just wants to know somebody and love them with his heart and soul. He is so incredibly sweet and kind. He spoke out on issues even when Namjoon tried to shut the question down. He wrote INDIVIDUAL notes and got gifts for fans on HIS birthday and got emotional when there weren’t enough for everyone.

He WORKED for this. He EARNED this. And you better realize that.

Why do people assume that just because Yoongi isn’t this cheery person that smiles all the time, that makes him an asshole? He is an AMAZING human being. Talented and smart and humble and just perfect the way that he is. Don’t you dare make him feel bad for that. Ever.
